Covid-19 Pandemic and Disparity in Household Adaptations to School Lockdown: Redressing the Myth of Educational Equality

This study investigated two variables: household inequality and adaptation to school closure during the COVID-19 lockdown in one city a middle-income country Sub-Sahara Africa. The findings suggest high social economic cost due digital gap particularly for less endowed households, strengthening view that contemporary increased technologybased curricula do favour those on positive side of gap, which prevented already vulnerable children from indigent households access remote online learning lockdown. exacerbated widening between socioeconomic background not so endowed. pandemic rehashed myth educational equality. Contemporary focus technology-based calls need redress embedded use technology. Insights this persistent disparity technology as underscored by pandemic, may have be given needed attention order thwart otherwise good benefits many countries developing economies.
